As the largest producer of gold in the nation and fourth largest in the world, we are home to the largest gold mining companies in the world as well as most of the major mining support companies.
As one of Nevada’s fastest growing areas, we offer a great business climate with one of the most attractive tax structures in the nation, affordable housing and inexpensive land. Our local college provides extensive technical and professional training for your workforce needs.
Northeastern Nevada isn’t just about mining. Ranching and agriculture is the oldest of our industries and continues to be a major industry. Tourism is a significant industry for northeast Nevada with major outdoor recreation of all types and the primary location for fishing and hunting in the state. The region includes vast unpopulated public lands providing nearly unlimited access to recreation. Benefitting from having four unique seasons, northeastern Nevada sports a good mixture of summer and winter activities, allowing for year round adventures.

There are festivals and events throughout the year beginning in late January with the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering and the National Basque Festival in July.
