Harvest at Damonte Ranch introduces New Concept in Multifamily Living

Lewis Apartment Communities, a member of the Lewis Group of Companies, has been a leader in the development and management of housing communities in Nevada and California for over 60 years.

The Lewis family had something different in mind when they broke ground on Harvest at Damonte Ranch. “As an apartment developer, it is our job to respond to changes we are seeing in what residents are looking for,” said Robert Lewis, President of the Nevada Division. “It is no secret that Nevada is growing at an incredible rate. Over the past few years, we identified a shift in both the reasons people are relocating to the state and what they desire when they get here. With that shift in mind, we launched Harvest at Damonte Ranch.”

Harvest at Damonte Ranch represents a new multifamily concept for northern Nevada. Unlike most multifamily designs, the development offers a less dense environment with just 18 dwelling units per acre, and many of the apartments have 2-car garages, which makes Harvest unique. The luxury living community offers green spaces, outdoor living areas and other amenities that promote healthy lifestyles.

“More and more residents are choosing to rent long-term,” said Gigi Chisel, Vice President Northern Nevada. “Whether that be because they have relocated for a job, prefer the freedom that comes with renting, want to have access to amenities, or prefer less demand on their free time for maintenance, we are seeing a preference for multifamily properties. That doesn’t mean these properties don’t need to meet high expectations, accommodate their active lifestyles, and provide many of the same comforts that single-family neighborhoods do.”

Once complete, Harvest at Damonte Ranch will total 720 luxury apartment units. The first phase of the project, consisting of 278 apartments, is built and fully leased. Construction delivery of Village 2, including 182 additional units, is scheduled for November 2018. Village 2, preleasing now, also includes a new generation of floorplan options, all with a private garage included. New to Village 2 are more 2-car garage plans, and the option for electric vehicle charging in many garages.

Also now complete are the property’s first phase amenities, including an 8,400 square foot clubhouse with an entertainment patio and resort-styled pool and spa, game room with large wall-mounted televisions, vast craft room for classes and activities, display kitchen, business center, and leading edge fitness center with separate yoga and spin studio with instructional resources. Other completed amenities include outdoor living areas, a grow-to-grill community garden, outdoor kitchen and grill area, dog park and dog wash station, and kids’ play structures. Additional amenities under construction are a second 4,500 square foot clubhouse and accompanying pool, an additional dog park and indoor dog spa, many wide open outdoor gathering spots and more children’s play equipment.

“The residents choosing Harvest value indoor/outdoor living, energy efficiency and overall lifestyle,” said Lauren Wright, General Manager for Northern Nevada Apartment Communities. “The complex deliberately mirrors the look and feel of surrounding single-family homes offering the feel of a traditional neighborhood with the flexibility, low maintenance requirements and additional amenities available in a luxury community.”

Located at the corner of Veterans Parkway and Steamboat Parkway, Harvest at Damonte Ranch is the first rental community in Damonte Ranch. As of 2018, the portfolio of apartments for Lewis Apartment Communities grew to more than 10,000 units with the completion of the northern Nevada projects to date.

“We are living in exciting times here in Nevada. There have always been attributes like the outdoor activities, having all four seasons, and the sense of community you don’t find everywhere, that make this a great place to live. But the added growth statewide is offering more access to jobs and unprecedented diversity in our economy,” said Robert Lewis. “We have always been proud of our development projects, the communities and the neighborhoods we build, and our role in providing housing for individuals and families alike in good locations that are convenient, comfortable, and offer a nice place to call home.”

Lewis Apartment Communities is part of the Lewis Group of Companies, one of the original developers of the Damonte Ranch master-planned community and a leading real estate developer in northern Nevada for more than 45 years. Dedicated to providing a superior living experience for all residents, the company has successfully developed more than 10,000 apartment homes in 37 communities throughout Nevada and California.
