At a very young age, Jeffrey Roybal started making and creating things out of anything he could get his hands on, from sand castles in the backyard, to Lincoln Logs and Legos in the living room, to forts and more at the homes of his friends. As he grew older, he enjoyed helping anyone he met with their projects just to learn and gain experience.
Once he and his wife bought their first house, Jeff immediately turned his garage into a shop and started creating custom items for his wife, family and others just for fun. Over time his skills grew and so did his passion for it.
Jeff is proud to come from a family with a strong heritage of working with their hands (carpentry, upholstery, custom mirror work, plumbing, masonry and more). After over two decades of working full time at a job in the medical field and only having a few hours a week to build things, he took the plunge and finally pursued his dream of having his own business. His passion for creating custom items for individuals and businesses has turned into a thriving Nevada business.
Taking the Time to Get Each Piece Right
Jeff is a carpenter specializing in custom pieces made out of wood and/or steel. “My business is unique for two reasons: I was a born and raised here which provides me with excellent local connections and I am a one-man operation which allows me to work with the customer directly and spend time with them giving options they might have thought of before and really understanding the project,” stated Jeff. “My goal is for the customer to be happy when they receive the finished product.”
Not only does Jeff build privately in his shop, he has also had the opportunity to work within the city on bigger projects such as Life Is Beautiful and a few television/movie sets.
His favorite part about owning this business are the people he meets, many of which have become great friends. He loves knowing that people and businesses use and enjoy something he made, it is extremely fulfilling. The only regret he has is that he wasn’t able to make this business happen sooner!
Born and raised in Las Vegas, it simply never occurred to Jeff to start his business anywhere else. When asked about deciding to stay in Nevada, he said, “I know it sounds weird but I feel like Nevada chose me. I have never wanted to move anywhere else. Visit? Yes. Move to? Nope.”
Jeff knows that one of the main reasons that Nevada businesses thrive is because local supports local. He believes in this wholeheartedly and says “if I can’t do the job requested I always refer the customer to a different local small business that I know can. We all need to stick together.”
