Northern Nevada’s only comprehensive mental healthcare center Thrive Wellness of Reno has moved to a new location — the historic Roy House in downtown Reno. Thrive offers specialized care options in eating disorders, perinatal mental health, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorders and more.
All programs and staff are slated to move their services over to The Roy House on Court Street on June 15, 2020. The historic building originally built in 1907, will offer more space for services amidst the backdrop of the downtown Reno Riverwalk.
“For our clients, we wanted to provide a space that feels comfortable and safe. The Roy House is the perfect setting to offer treatment and care as we work together to determine the best possible individualized treatment plan for each client,” said Kat Geiger, LCSW and founder of Thrive Wellness of Reno.
In late 2019, Thrive Wellness launched the Eating Disorder Recovery Support Group, a virtual support group for individuals to connect with others on the healing journey taking place on Tuesdays at 5 p.m. Since then, Thrive Wellness launched two new support groups:
- COVID-19 Impact Support Group –– a free, virtual therapy for first responders and healthcare providers working on the pandemic’s frontlines taking place on Tuesdays at 6 p.m.
- Perinatal Mental Health Support Group –– a free, virtual support group for new parents struggling with mood imbalances and baby blues taking place on Thursdays at 10 a.m.
Thrive Wellness offers plentiful outpatient services, including individual therapy, family therapy, medication management, psychiatric services, nutrition therapy and group therapy. The clinic also offers an eating disorder intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) as well as partial hospitalization/day treatments (PHP).
Thrive Wellness will introduce a perinatal mental health IOP on June 15. The new program will be an intensive half-day program that supports parents who seek one-on-one guidance through perinatal mental health struggles, commonly known as the “baby blues”, while also maintaining a part-time work or school schedule. The IOP is offered five days a week for four hours each day and is open to any parent in the community.
Clients age eight and up are welcome, and Thrive Wellness currently accepts many major health insurance and offers individual case payment plans for uninsured clients.
