The Moonridge Foundation is hosting the 11th annual Philanthropy Leaders Summit for the first time simultaneously in both Las Vegas and in Reno on Friday, September 9. The Nevada-based philanthropy firm, Moonridge Group, is guiding the Summit and shared that this event will ignite the spirit of innovation and strategic impact with charitable donations. The Summit will feature inspirational local leaders such as Imagine Dragons bassist and Tyler Robinson Foundation Director, Ben McKee, as the in-person keynote speaker in Las Vegas; while NBA Hall of Famer and philanthropist Shaquille O’Neal will give a video message. Many others are soon to be announced.

This year’s theme, “Innovate to Ignite,” focuses on connecting funders with best practices for foundation and corporate giving, and inspiring these funders with an innovative approach to their philanthropy strategy. The summit will introduce attendees to trailblazing women, youth, climate and sports philanthropists, and provide an update about corporate giving trends.

“For over a decade, the Moonridge Foundation has seen the amazing influence that the Summit has had on philanthropy and social impact across Nevada,” said Moonridge Foundation President Julie Murray. “This year, you can expect to see new ideas, innovations, inspirational speakers and collaboration to support our commitment in elevating philanthropy throughout the state.”

Nevada’s corporate funders, family foundation leaders, and individual philanthropists play a critical role in strategic action around giving. These groups have been especially important in the recovery of the global pandemic. In recent years, the events happening around the world have refined how philanthropists support the causes near to their hearts. The Moonridge Foundation’s Philanthropy Leaders Summit will address how this new pulse has allowed philanthropists to create an even more strategic way of benevolence and how unity has propelled our philanthropic landscape.

“After two years of fully virtual events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Moonridge Group is excited to welcome corporate funders and philanthropists back together in person in the North and the South, while also offering a virtual component for those who are unable to make it in person,” Murray continued. “Whether you’re joining us in person or at home, it’s time to reignite the power of giving in order to enhance the communities around us.”

This event is made possible by Sponsors and Collaborative Partners: Bennett Family Foundation, Zappos for Good, NV Energy, San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Wynn Resorts, Myra Greenspun, City National Bank, Nevada Museum of Art, Philanthropy Southwest, Microsoft, EDAWN, The ROW, Subaru of Las Vegas, Renown Health, Luna Foundation, Dickson Realty, Alex Benna & Chrissy Menicucci Benna, Mulvaney Family Fund, The Abbi Agency, PBS Reno and Nevada Business Magazine.

The summit will take place on Friday, September 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. PST  in Las Vegas at the Zappos Headquarters; in Reno at the Nevada Museum of Art; and a virtual option is available.  There will be a morning breakfast and networking event an hour prior from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. PST. General Admission tickets are priced at $95 per person. Registration is available online at philanthropyleaderssummit.com
